These days’ people expect all of their emails, contacts, calendars and files, to be available to them and in sync across all of their devices; smart phones, tablets, and computers. If one of your devices breaks or is unavailable, it doesn’t matter. You can walk over to another device, and pick up where you left off.

Unfortunately the two main ISP’s (internet service providers) we have on Cape Cod, Verizon and Comcast; have email systems that are, at this moment in time, antiquated and behind the times. Just because you use one of these two to get your internet service, doesn’t mean you need to suffer with their antiquated email addresses. I still have my email address, but I simply forward all my email messages from there over to my email address, and I haven’t looked back since.

When you have a Comcast or Verizon email address, using their respective websites will get you Email and Contacts, and Calendars. But when you try to setup that account on an iPad or Windows or Android tablet, you will immediately begin to notice that your information is not in “sync”. Your contacts won’t change across your devices, and your inbox will not be in sync and on and on.

I often get asked “what is the easiest way” to do things. In my humble opinion, the best way to do email, is with the newly rebranded Hotmail, which is now called “”.

When you have an email address, you are entitled to use a very sophisticated system of online tools to get your basic and most advanced computing needs accomplished.

  • Email, email folders, Contacts and Calendar
  • FREE, online versions of Microsoft Office which includes: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote.
  • SkyDrive – a very cool way to keep your Documents, and Pictures, in the cloud, so WHEN your computer dies, your stuff is safe, and you can view anything located in SkyDrive on your phones and tablets.
  • Ability to seamlessly synchronize all of this data to your other computers, tablets, and phones.
  • Works with Apple, Google, and Microsoft Smartphones and Tablets and Computers
  • Works with any modern email client like Windows Live Mail, Outlook, Apple Mail, etc.

Here is the intro video on Microsoft home page:

Apples iCloud as with most of Apples stuff, only works with Apple products, Google has similar offerings but Google is evil J. SkyDrive currently works with them all!

Anyone that currently has an @msn,, or email address is already on this system.
